The gîte de Kerquestel in Paimpol is ideally located to benefit of the seaside and the exceptional landscapes of the Brittany shore.

To the East, Saint- Brieuc bay with Binic and Saint-Quay Portrieux beaches and, closer, Plouha and Plouézec cliffs, Minard and Bilfot headlands, Port Lazo anchorage and the nicely restored Craca windmill.

Paimpol city and its harbor within the town, the numerous shops, the Sea Museum, the Beauport abbey in its wide property, Guilben headland viewing Paimpol bay are within a few minutes drive. (easy parking downtown)

Ploubazlanec offers 2 typical fishing harbours in Pors Even and Loguivy de la Mer. The l’Arcouest headland is about 12 km far. From here, the tide variation continuously modifies the shore landscapes.

From l’Arcouest, you must pay a full day visit to Bréhat island.The ferry crossing is about 15 mn. No car on the island. A one hour walk to the North end of the island with “le Paon” lighthouse built on impressive pink granite blocks is a good idea. You should also see the tide mill and you will appreciate the impressive view on the Trieux river estuary from the Saint Michel chapel. The Bréhat glass factory deserves a visit as well as the “la Chambre” anchorage and the Guerzido beach on the South shore.

To the West, Lézardrieux and its yachting harbor on the Trieux river. From there, you should drive to the unique Sillon de Talbert , a 3km spit of land which faces the wide rocky plateau and the lighthouse of Héaux de Bréhat.

The city of Tréguier deserves a visit to see the cathedral, the old houses and the yachting harbor.

Further West, from Plougrescant to the Baie de Lannion, a serie of exceptional sea views and superb beaches are offered along the “pink granite coast” after about one hour drive.

The inland country deserves also a visit : from Lézardrieux, the “ La Roche Jagu” property with its fully restored castle overviewing the river Trieux is on the way to Pontrieux, a typical city with its washing-places on the river and its harbor.

Overall, from the Gîte de Kerquestel, there is a wide and very diverse pattern of visits and walks with superb landscapes and sea views within short drives.We are sure you will enjoy your stay !
